When I think of "Aunty Monica" as she was known to me - I think back to the happy days of my childhood. I loved to go up the road with my Mum (Barbara ) to see Aunty Monica and to play with Rachel. I’m pretty sure we used to go up once a week – my Mum used to sit chatting whilst Rachel and I played. I remember staying for tea a few times on my own – and I felt so grown up. I distinctly remember sardines on toast – I had never had this crazy food before, but I loved it! I also remember it was here that I had my first digestive biscuit – never had one of these before either and this was pure heaven! It was always so much fun and Aunty Monica was really a great character and a good friend to my Mum. They used to go to the Leaside Ladies club together which I know my Mum loved. So many memories of happy times. I know the last few years have been so difficult but now you are at rest and I am sure you are up there having a good old natter with Barbara. RIP in dear lady xx

Monica was my godmother and I could not have asked for a better one. She always remembered me. Even into early adulthood she bought me Christmas presents. She looked after me as a child when my mum was in hospital. When my dad came to collect me and finally take me home; I was already attached to my Auntie. She was a great friend of my mum who is still alive and has wonderful memories of their friendship. What I remember most from my godmother ‘Auntie Monica’ was her kindness; her warmth, her bubbly personality; great sense of humour and her joyful laugh.
She could tell a very entertaining story.
I will never forget her kindness, warmth and character. I miss her.
I pray that she is in a really good place now re- united with her own parents and members of her family who have gone before her; in a better place now and smiling down on all of us.💕♥️
